I don't know the source of this thing, nor do I know how legit it is. I'm pretty sure it's probably not true after the massive 9/11 commission reports recently released. But really, I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

2004 MTV Video Music Awards

Does anyone care about the video music awards? It turns out lots of people do, unbeknownst to me. But a couple pictures of the invitees never hurts right?

That species of chipmonk at the Grand Canyon the ranger told me about found it's way to the VMAs.
Mandy Moore looked decent enough to not get made fun of.
Same with Hilary Duff.
Ashlee Simpson with Mr. In-The-Market-For-A-New-Pair-Of-Non-Nasty-Converse.

Sock The Shit Out Of Bush
Monday August 30, 2004
This one simple game proves a good point. It's fun to punch people. So instead of playing this game, you should actually take it out to the street, your local grocery store, or the pub. Just punch people! In this case though you can rough up Bush a little, even if you're a supporter.

John Kerry On The Daily Show
Thursday August 26, 2004
Like many Americans I'm rather ashamed to say I don't know much about the upcoming election and to be real honest I think I'd rather avoid it entirely, thus helping myself avoid the dreaded jury duty that may or may not come from voting records. It's a pretty unAmerican thing to say and do, but it's true. I wish I knew more about politics, but I don't and it's a pretty daunting task to try and catch up before November. The other night though Senator John Kerry stopped by the Daily Show, and you know that crazy bastard Jon Stewart, he's the most entertaining man on tv. The interview is worth a look.

"He didn't like that (Busch) and consumed, as near as we can tell, about 36 cans of Rainier."

Avenged Sevenfold & Atreyu Bashing
Monday August 16, 2004
If you're not into Hardcore and Metal or any associated subgenre you may as well skip past this, but I wanted to make sure as many people that do listen to it read this.
From a recent Dillinger Escape Plan interview on Lambgoat, Greg Puciato the band's frontman made some amazing statements about the scene. Let me leave you with this, and I'll include the rest in the extension.
"If I see another video with like a fucking red rose at the end of it, or a black and white video with like a red heart somewhere, you know what I mean? Come on, dude... seriously."
Come on, dude. Seriously. Keep reading, his interview is great.
A lot of bands out right now... metalcore.... along those lines, what do you think about the current status of the genre?
Well the whole metal core scene is pretty much the same as the nu-metal scene was three or four years ago. It's pretty depressing. We went to Ozzfest recently and that was pretty depressing. I turned on Headbanger's Ball recently because I knew that our video was going to come on soon and just watching Headbanger's ball for two hours made me want to throw up. I think that it's exciting that we can even have a video... that we can even have a forum for a band like us to even have a video. I don't want people to associate a band like us with a formulaic metalcore bands. When you hear bands like Atreyu, it's the Linkin Park of that style of music. It's like a verse, a chorus, a verse, a chorus, a double bass breakdown, a chorus – end. It's not art, it's not any kind of forward thinking music. I don't really know if people are like "It's great that you guys can be on TV!," but I don't know that having our video next to a band like that is any more desirable than having a video next to a band like Disturbed. I don't know if it's any better for us. If I see another video with like a fucking red rose at the end of it, or a black and white video with like a red heart somewhere, you know what I mean? Come on, dude... seriously.
Avenged Sevenfold.
Now that band's a whole other story. Like I don't really know those guys that well, but apparently... uh... they're a terrible band.
(Laughing furiously)
We played with them on the Take Action Tour with Poison the Well and Eighteen Visions and those guys and... I don't know, man. I don't know where this goth metalcore sing-along stuff came from, but I guess it's Orange County.
Thanks...
Next time I come through town, James Hart is going to kick my ass. I don't know, man. To each their own, whatever you want to listen to, it's your own fault. I don't really see anything... I don't know why those bands are doing so well. Honestly that's the style of music that pisses me off the most out of every style of music is that goth metalcore thing. It's like Hot Topic to the next level.
Worst metalcore band...
(didn't even finish the question)
Atreyu, man! I'm sure they're nice people, I'm sure they're the nicest of people and I wish them well so they don't have to work at 7-11 for the rest of their lives but we heard their album a couple years ago, like their first album and were like "This is brutal! This is really one of the worst things ever!" Then we heard they sold like 30 thousand albums their first week and then we were like "Woah! There's a lot of dumb kids!"
Send a message to the kids who bought the new Atreyu album.
Well, they probably just sold their Linkin Park album because they're too cool for Linkin Park and now they're into Atreyu... so a couple years from now they can sell their Atreyu album and listen to The Dillinger Escape Plan.
Yes!
(laughing)
I don't know what else to say, man.
That it?
That's it.

PTA president charged with sexual misconduct
Thursday August 05, 2004
The PTA president of a Torrance elementary school was charged Monday with engaging in sexual acts with two teenage boys who attend nearby West High School.
Sheryl Graham, 42, a wife and mother of five children, was expected to surrender to authorities in Torrance Superior Court on Wednesday to face four counts each of sexual intercourse with a minor and oral copulation of a person under 18, Deputy District Attorney Mike Gargiulo said.
This is my old high school! Nothing that entertaining ever happened when I went there. Oh, and a little side note...I'm sure she forced herself on them, they definitely didn't feel like getting head that day.
