Avenged/Atreyu Post Leads To Hate
Wednesday November 30, 2005
If you remember my post about the Dillinger Escape Plan interview I basically agreed with a lot of his comments about the scene. Mostly though, I found it to be an entertaining read. Over a year later I get 3 hilarious comments (scroll down) from 3 people who most likely just graduated middle school, stopped listening to A Simple Plan, and moved on to badass bands like Avenged Sevenfold and more importantly Atreyu (wow...what a band). Check out this bold statement:
I hope one of those bands comes to this site and sees this, 'cause if they did, all hell would reign onto your worthless little life!
I only wish they would come reign some hell onto me. Sounds like fun. Now excuse me while I go pop my Hanson CD back in.
And as for everyone else, email darkslipsystem@yahoo.com and tell them to get a life.
Update: Another funny comment and I've responded in my own comments. Avenged fans are hilarious, keep that shit coming. But don't ditch your 8th grade history class just to send me comments!

Really Sweet CSS Shadow Effect
Wednesday November 30, 2005

See the shadow on the above image? 100% CSS, no photoshop tricks. Now that's what I call awesome. The only concern I have with it is the added amount of markup. However the author already made that clear in the article. I know one thing, this is a step in the right direction!

Japanese Hand Job Machine
Tuesday November 22, 2005
Why do it yourself when you can pay $290 and have this machine take care of it for you. Hell, think of the multitasking if you have both hands free.

Google Analytics Already Disables Sign-ups
Monday November 21, 2005
With 234,725 accounts created in a very short time Google has been forced to slow things down for a bit. Imagine the amount of processing power it takes to deal with all this data. I have confidence that they will get this sorted out, but I'm not too surprised it came to this. Good thing I got an account early. I must say the features are pretty promising, and I can't wait for the site overlay feature to be turned back on.

Monday November 14, 2005
“It’s bad enough that our soldiers in Iraq have to drink non-alcoholic beer,” notes Ron, DrinkingStuff’s chief product designer, “add to that the fact they may be shot at while drinking it and you can see there’s a problem waiting to be solved.”

Eight-year-old physics genius admitted to college
Monday November 07, 2005
This is out of control:
At eight years old Song is already talking about building flying cars and defying Newton's law of gravity while others his age are attending the first grade. He completed his elementary, junior-high, and high school curricula in just nine months, something that usually takes 12 years, and has been admitted as a freshman to the physics department of Inha University.

"Apparently M3 dude was sleeping with ex-wife of psycho dude. Psycho dude goes to ex's house and takes out aggression on M3 dude's new M3."

Somebody would have to die if this happened to me.

Arkansas Man Kills Deer With Bare Hands in Bedroom
Friday November 04, 2005
"For 40 exhausting minutes, Wayne Goldsberry battled a buck with his bare hands in his daughter's bedroom.
Goldsberry finally subdued the five-point whitetail deer that crashed through a bedroom window at his daughter's home Friday. When it was over, blood splattered the walls and the deer lay dead on the bedroom floor, its neck broken."

MySpace - Next Generation Social Networking
Thursday November 03, 2005
This article is a great read. Not only about MySpace, but how the band Hawthorne Heights made it big with no major label backing them. Hell, they had 20,000 fans before they ever played a show for their debut album.
By any measure, MySpace is one of the top sites on the Web. It racked up 9.4 billion pageviews in August - more than Google - and new users are signing up at a stunning rate of 3.5 million a month. But these aren't the only numbers that drew the attention of Rupert Murdoch, chair and CEO of News Corp., which agreed to buy MySpace's parent company in July for $580 million: The site hosts 12 percent of all ads on the Web, more than any other site. MySpace should gross $30 million to $40 million this year, says John Tinker, an analyst with ThinkEquity in New York. And with News Corp.'s sales force behind it, he estimates the company could double that figure in 2006.
