GyroBike

Friday April 28, 2006

You know what I hate? Training wheels. They just never made any sense. Think about how dangerous those things are, it's a wonder I ever made it through my childhood alive. Far worse than all the explosives and fire I played with when the parents weren't home! Fear no more - some students have solved this long standing problem with a gyro wheel that corrects for bad bike riding and sends you straight ahead. I wonder how well they corner?

The 100 Unsexiest Men In The World

Sunday April 23, 2006

OK the main take-home point from this article is that more women want to have sex with Osama Bin Laden than Gilbert Gottfried. Sure he might have an annoying voice and look like a constipated rat terrier, but he's not trying to murder anyone. Maybe.

ATF rids Univ. of ninja threat

Friday April 14, 2006

ATF agents are always on alert for anything suspicious including ninjas.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm agents, on campus Tuesday for Project Safe Neighborhoods training, detained a suspicious individual near the Georgia Center, University Police Chief Jimmy Williamson said.

Jeremiah Ransom, a sophomore from Macon, was leaving a Wesley Foundation pirate vs. ninja event when he was detained.

Hey, you gotta watch out for those college ninjas, I heard they're educated, coked up, drunk, and deadly.

Build Your Own DVR

Wednesday April 12, 2006

Having recently entered into the home DVR world myself I feel it's my obligation to link to the good articles I find. This one is short and to the point. It even serves as a good reminder to myself of the good things I have yet to get working (remote control tweaking to control other parts of my computer). I personally went down a similar path that the writer of the article did with the Hauppauge PVR-150. It's a magnificent card, and I really have no complaints. Highly recommended. Forget Tivo and their subscription fees, and spend that extra money on a kickass new monitor like I did!

Man Consumes 40,000 Ecstasy Pills in Nine Years

Tuesday April 04, 2006

This is just crazy.

Though the man, who is now 37, stopped taking the drug seven years ago, he still suffers from severe physical and mental health side-effects, including extreme memory problems, paranoia, hallucinations and depression. He also suffers from painful muscle rigidity around his neck and jaw which often prevents him from opening his mouth. The doctors believe many of these symptoms may be permanent.

Ligeia Album Review

Tuesday April 04, 2006

Lambgoat.com recently reviewed this album by a band I've never heard of. I'm a little out of the loop these days on the new "metalcore" bands, as they seem to come a dime a dozen. I'd be curious to hear the rest of this CD as I used to be a big fan of this genre. From the single linked track, though, I can't say I agree with the score of 4/10 they give it. It's definitely unoriginal, but I think they make up for it with decent song writing, vocals, and recording quality. I have a feeling that this is one of those bands that could "find themselves" and make a pretty decent 2nd record. Still, I'm not gonna lie, I have no intentions of buying this one...I'll just stick to my Modern Life Is War record and the new Champion split.

Oh, and +5 points for not having "blood" or "roses" or "dying" in the band name.
