The All-In-One Beer Brewing Machine

Saturday August 25, 2007

beer_485.jpg

What if there were a machine—a beautiful shiny machine—and all it did, with almost no work from you, was make you beer? Such was the dream that drove PopSci staff photographer John Carnett to spend weeks building what he simply refers to as the Device: a stainless-steel two-cart brewing system that starts by boiling extract—concentrated wort, or pre-fermented beer—and ends with a chilled pint.

This is a friggin cool machine, even though it won't do All-Grain brewing yet. It's a little odd that you have to pour your pint off the same machine you brew on, but I guess it could be a pretty rad conversation piece in your living room. Now your neighbors can look in the window and think you're running a meth lab!

Success With The Database

Thursday August 16, 2007

It's been an incredibly F'ed up interesting month over here but there may finally be some success to report. Allow me to summarize the nightmares experienced.

To start it off I ran out of disk space at my webhost (due to being a cheap ass with a cheap ass package). Well guess what happens when you're writing to a Berkeley Database and you run over your quota? Corrupted everything. There's really no way to recover from this outside of reinstalling and rebuilding everything. So, I figure it would be a great idea to upgrade my movabletype while I'm at it. The newer version looks much better anyway. Oops, with cheap shared hosting your CPU and memory usage is throttled and the new version won't even run. Sweet, more wasted time! So I decide maybe I can use some crazy perl script to go in and fix these Berkeley Databases. WRONG. Then out of nowhere my website won't load. Error 500 for any PHP page. Oddly enough images, HTML pages, and anything NOT PHP will load without issue. Tech support in the Philippines basically refuses to believe this. "Did you read the FAQ?"...please, just stab a ball point pen into my eye immediately. Guess what, after a couple angry calls, sitting on hold, and emails the site randomly works again. Thanks, geniuses.

Final decision was to simply use the old version of movabletype, reinstall it, and I'm going to have to do some .htaccess trickery to forward any links to my old pages to the new ones, since the URLs were all based on internal database IDs (terrible decision) and now they're all different. Also, we're now on MySQL so hopefully this nightmare will never happen again. Never allow a Berkeley Database near your data.

Comet Between Fireworks and Lightning

Monday February 05, 2007

Explanation: Sometimes the sky itself is the best show in town. On January 26, people from Perth, Australia gathered on a local beach to watch a sky light up with delights near and far. Nearby, fireworks exploded as part of Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a thunderstorm flashed in the distance. Near the image center, though, seen through clouds, was the most unusual sight of all: Comet McNaught. The photogenic comet was so bright that it even remained visible though the din of Earthly flashes. Comet McNaught continues to move out from the Sun and dim, but should remain visible in southern skies with binoculars through the end of this month. The above image is actually a three photograph panorama digitally processed to reduce red reflections from the exploding firework.

Dirtbiking & Back Breaking

Monday November 06, 2006

A photo of me dirtbiking in the desert about 8 years ago. I thought I was the shit, doing my little jumps and throwing the occasional no-footer. Well this time my luck ran out.

October 7th. What started as a great day of riding ended with me lying in a giant washed out section of trail unable to move my legs (more on that later, I can move them now). Thinking of all the TV I've seen about back injuries I didn't allow myself to try to move, nor anyone else to move me. Blood was pouring from my face, and as my friend went to get help (not easy, a half hour car ride to the nearest town from our spot in the desert) I laid in the dirt pouring my water over me to cool off, and trying not to go to sleep or go into shock. Surprisingly the pain wasn't as bad as you'd think; my face was numb and my back, although it hurt, was in some kind of amazing adrenaline filled shock response. Time was moving slower than ever before, but I tried to think of positive things like my best days of surfing, my girlfriend, and the great beer I had planned to brew in the next week.

Finally a cop arrived with some oxygen. Soon after an ambulance came and they gently put me on a backboard. Amazing how great it felt to lie flat with pure oxygen pumping into my lungs. The nearest hospital was probably a good 40 minutes away, and it was a bumpy ride. Not cool, but I was relieved by some killer narcotics.

Oh by the way, straight out of Kill Bill, just before the ambulance arrived I looked at my foot and thought to myself, "Fucking move!" Well holy shit I got it to twitch. Maybe I won't be in a wheel chair for life I thought. Not bad considering I had zero feeling in my legs, and it could still move a half inch.

Hospital #1, Antelope Valley Hospital. Cat scans, X-Rays, MRIs oh my. L1 burst fracture in my lumbar spine (think "exploded vertebrae") with a piece of the bone compressing my spinal cord up to 80%. Oh wait there's more, a broken neck, but not all the way through. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid one of those horrible halos they drill into your head (I did). Not to mention a broken nose, as if I care about that at the moment. Well, being a community hospital that's short staffed on spine surgeons I was life flighted via helicopter to Cedars Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills. Closer to home anyway.

Hospital #2. Fortunately this world class facility staffs one of the best spine surgeons in the world. Surgery number 1 I received a ton of metal to reconstruct my spine. Oh and luckily my lung collapsed afterwards, I really needed that. Let's just say that chest tubes hurt just as much as a broken back. Fire with every breath. Surgery number 2 I got some nice rods and screws to hold everything in place. All titanium of course. Also, a plastic surgeon put my face back together, but it wasn't that bad in the first place. Just my nose and not really out of place much. Awesome, I won't be disfigured.

Now, 1 month and 3 days after lying in the dirt realizing I was still alive I've got some giant healing incisions, a really weak back, a ninja turtle style back brace to wear for 3 months and I can only hobble around slowly with a cane. But supposedly I'll be making a full recovery, which is fantastic news.

So a month in the hospital really sucked, and I've been through hell, but I will be back. Hence there haven't been any posts on this site, but I may still post a few things while I'm rehabing my back and weak legs. Little by little I'm getting my life back.

- Justin

Ligeia Album Review

Tuesday April 04, 2006

Lambgoat.com recently reviewed this album by a band I've never heard of. I'm a little out of the loop these days on the new "metalcore" bands, as they seem to come a dime a dozen. I'd be curious to hear the rest of this CD as I used to be a big fan of this genre. From the single linked track, though, I can't say I agree with the score of 4/10 they give it. It's definitely unoriginal, but I think they make up for it with decent song writing, vocals, and recording quality. I have a feeling that this is one of those bands that could "find themselves" and make a pretty decent 2nd record. Still, I'm not gonna lie, I have no intentions of buying this one...I'll just stick to my Modern Life Is War record and the new Champion split.

Oh, and +5 points for not having "blood" or "roses" or "dying" in the band name.

Yet Another MySpace Article

Friday December 02, 2005

MySpace articles interest me greatly. What is it about this damn thing that made it so successful? Everyone has their theories, mostly pointing out the fact that it took the best ideas from other sites and incorporated them into one. Part mp3.com, part xanga/blogger/livejournal, with it's ease of custimization allowing users to create custom layouts - these features don't make it unique individually, but together it puts the site on a whole new level.

I have to be honest I skimmed most of the following article, only noticing certain things. This however, is mind boggling:

"It's becoming a phenomenon unto itself. With 20 million of its members logging on in October, MySpace now draws so much traffic that it accounted for 10% of all advertisements viewed online in the month."

MySpace - Next Generation Social Networking

Thursday November 03, 2005

This article is a great read. Not only about MySpace, but how the band Hawthorne Heights made it big with no major label backing them. Hell, they had 20,000 fans before they ever played a show for their debut album.

By any measure, MySpace is one of the top sites on the Web. It racked up 9.4 billion pageviews in August - more than Google - and new users are signing up at a stunning rate of 3.5 million a month. But these aren't the only numbers that drew the attention of Rupert Murdoch, chair and CEO of News Corp., which agreed to buy MySpace's parent company in July for $580 million: The site hosts 12 percent of all ads on the Web, more than any other site. MySpace should gross $30 million to $40 million this year, says John Tinker, an analyst with ThinkEquity in New York. And with News Corp.'s sales force behind it, he estimates the company could double that figure in 2006.

Send Music and Pictures To Your Cell Phone For Free

Britney Spears Sex Tape

Friday October 07, 2005

Apparently there is a Britney Spears sex tape floating around in the hands of some idiot. I have a feeling if this ever makes it to the web it'll be the most downloaded video ever. If and when this video makes it online I'll be sure to let you know (not that I would personally download such a thing). Hopefully it wont be as sick as the Fred Durst one was, but you never know when it comes to Britney these days. Remember when the Pamela Anderson sex tape came out years ago? Wasn't that just the best thing that ever happened to teenage boys adult men?

The Big One, California Earthquake

Friday September 09, 2005

U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Lucy Jones remembers attending an emergency training session in August 2001 with the Federal Emergency Management Agency that discussed the three most likely catastrophes to strike the United States.

First on the list was a terrorist attack in New York. Second was a super-strength hurricane hitting New Orleans. Third was a major earthquake on the San Andreas fault.

Now that the first two have come to pass, she and other earthquake experts are using the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina as an opportunity to reassess how California would handle a major temblor.

He is controlled by WinHoldEm, the first commercially available autoplaying poker software. Seat him at the table and he will apply strategy gleaned from decades of research. While carbon-based players munch Ding Dongs, yawn, guzzle beer, reply to email, take phone calls, and chat on IM, CptPokr (a pseudonym) is running the numbers so it will know, statistically, when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.

National Don't Buy Gas Day

Saturday August 27, 2005

So I've been hearing a lot about this so-called "National Don't Buy Gas Day" on September 3rd. It goes by other names as well, maybe "Gas out" or numerous other ones. Of course this sounds like a great plan. Hey we think we pay too much for gasoline, lets really stick it to those bastards. Guess what, it doesn't work.

It turns out there are good reasons California has higher gas prices. Check it out:

  • California is the second-biggest gasoline market in the world, outranked only by the United States as a whole. (California alone consumes as much gasoline as all of Japan.)

  • All of the state's refineries, running at full capacity, cannot meet California's one million barrels per day consumption, requiring the importation of more expensive product to meet consumer demand.

  • Since 1996, California has required a cleaner-burning formulation of gasoline which is produced at few refineries outside of California.

  • The four largest oil refiners in California produce almost 80% of the gasoline supply, and the six largest refiners operate about 85% of the retail gasoline outlets.

Now of course oil companies can manipulate things a little bit by determining how much gasoline they produce, where it gets sold, etc. But they don't have any power to change simple supply and demand. If people are buying more gasoline prices go up, and vice versa.

Imagine now that we all don't buy gasoline for 1 day. This is the plan right? Does that mean they're gonna lose 1 single dime? I'll give you a hint: no. It simply means we're going to wait an extra day before buying the same amount of gas we already would have been purchasing. If you want to really screw over the oil companies then I suggest you don't buy anymore gas EVER, and sell your car. And that goes for everyone that owns one. Is this gonna happen? I'll let you figure that one out.

But hey - don't let me ruin your fun. Wait till September 4th to fill your tank. That'll teach em!

Some facts collected at snopes.com, mixed with a whole lot of pure common sense

Wynn Hotel - Las Vegas

Thursday August 18, 2005

Having been inside I agree the building is incredible.

"This is one of several indoor-outdoor patios," Wynn says at the ice cream shop, Sugar and Ice. "It's part of a 5.8 million-square-foot building. Next to it is what? Thirty feet of water? And then straight up here is a 100-foot waterfall. Five to 10 thousand gallons a minute coming over the edge. That requires a big, huge gravity-fed system. A huge cavity room there with heavy engineering is in that section of the mountain -- and it's one of several. This mountain is faceted all the way around, and each section of that structure is not only a complex building that's clad with an artificial rock and hundreds and millions of pounds of real trees, the stuff on top -- the big trees -- weighed as much as 200 tons to put up there, each!"

Modded Hybrid Car Gets 250 MPG

Monday August 15, 2005

Modified normal hybrids like the Toyota Prius have been the center of research lately, and it's sounding extremely promising.

Monrovia-based Energy CS has converted two Priuses to get up to 230 mpg by using powerful lithium ion batteries. It is forming a new company, EDrive Systems, that will convert hybrids to plug-ins for about $12,000 starting next year, company vice president Greg Hanssen said.

University of California, Davis engineering professor Andy Frank built a plug-in hybrid from the ground up in 1972 and has since built seven others, one of which gets up to 250 mpg. They were converted from non-hybrids, including a Ford Taurus and Chevrolet Suburban.

Scientists: Sumatra quake longest ever recorded

Thursday May 19, 2005

Very interesting new findings on the December Sumatra quake.

"Normally, a small earthquake might last less than a second; a moderate sized earthquake might last a few seconds. This earthquake lasted between 500 and 600 seconds (at least 10 minutes)," said Charles Ammon, associate professor of geosciences at Penn State University.

The quake released an amount of energy equal to a 100 gigaton bomb, according to Roger Bilham, professor of geological sciences at the University of Colorado.

Firefox JavaScript Vulnerability

Tuesday April 05, 2005

A vulnerability has been discovered in Mozilla Firefox, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the JavaScript engine, as a "lambda" replace exposes arbitrary amounts of heap memory after the end of a JavaScript string.

Successful exploitation may disclose sensitive information in memory.

Secunia has constructed a test, which can be used to check if your browser is affected by this issue:
test

The vulnerability has been confirmed in versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2. Other versions may also be affected.

The test is really interesting, it displayed a lot of stuff in memory on my computer, until I finally got it to crash Firefox altogether.

Toshiba's New 'Minute-Charge' Battery

Tuesday March 29, 2005

Toshiba has developed a Lithium-Ion battery capable of being charged to 80 per cent of its full capacity in under 60 seconds. Filling it up takes just "a few more minutes", the company boasted today.

Toshiba 'one-minute charge' Li-ion batteryThat's considerably faster than today's Li-ion rechargeables which can take 1-4 hours to reach 80 per cent capacity, and even longer to fill completely.

Toshiba also claimed the new cell offers a greater longevity than today's Li-ion batteries, losing only one per cent of its capacity after 1000 charge cycles, according to the results of its own charge-discharge testing.

I can't wait for the day of never waiting for a battery to recharge. This is going to be some incredible technology.

The 30-Hour Famine

Wednesday March 16, 2005

Taking a slight detour from the usual mess of worthless links, borderline lame games, and images of women none of us will ever have comes this. I've been asked to push this link on and I'm doing just that.

One of our friendly neighbors north of the border, Darren Barefoot, is participating in a little fundraising event to help fight hunger. It's called the 30-Hour Famine, a World Vision Canada program that fights hunger in the developing world.

"For 30 hours on April 1st and 2nd, I won't eat, as a kind of symbolic gesture of support for the 800 million malnourished and starving people in the developing world. At the same time, of course, I'm raising money," he said.

I'm not going to tie you up and force you to donate money of course, but at the very minimum visit this link. And if you happen to be in the humanitarian mood he's got links to places to donate.

Dell’s new Inspiron XPS

Friday February 25, 2005

dellxps.JPG

Their new second gen version of the Inspiron XPS keeps with the out of this world specs and price: $2800 gets you an 8.6-pound beast of a Sonoma-based machine (yeah, they finally switched to Pentium M chips), replete with a new insane 17-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) widescreen TrueLife screen, user-upgradeable 256MB GeForce Go 6800 Ultra graphics, dual channel DDR2 SDRAM, and some LED lighting around the chassis they found in their hearts to shave down to 1.67-inches thick. Oh, and they’re resurrecting an old Dell classic: personalizeable lid covers! Just slap a transparent cover onto the metal lid, and sandwich in your favorite “game imagery.” All that power, and they still resort to gimmicks.

With something this huge you may as well buy a desktop. I mean a 17 inch monitor on a laptop? Don't get me wrong I want one of these, but I could also use another cup of coffee right now and I think that settles it.

First it was Suprnova, now it's Lokitorrent. Just when you think you've moved on from the last setback they shut down another filesharing site. The odd thing about all this is that they will never stop filesharing. It's not possible. If they were somehow able to block all bittorrent traffic a new client with a new protocol will be created in a matter of hours. They're trying to arrest kids on college campuses to make a statement, shutting down websites, and generally making a scene over something they ultimately won't be able to fix. Where does it end?

Clean Out That Computer You Lazy Bastard!

Wednesday February 09, 2005

New evidence suggests that all that dust you allow your computer to collect inside of itself is actually pretty bad for it. I've always heard it wasn't that big of a deal, but it's good to keep it clean for the electrical connections. Turns out it can raise the CPU temp quite a lot, 14 degrees celcius in this case. I definitely know I never, ever, clean out mine.

The World's Smallest P2P Application

Thursday February 03, 2005

This isn't new but I thought about it the other day and decided it was worth a repost. A CS professor at Princeton wrote a peer-to-peer filesharing program in just 15 lines of python. It runs on standard HTTP protocol that your web browser uses. He claims this to be proof that banning filesharing is rediculous, and impossible. If it's this easy to create new ones how can it be stopped? I agree.

Jean Carlos Chera: 9 Year Old Soccer Star

Thursday January 27, 2005

Jean Carlos Chera currently weighs 35 kilograms and is 1,37 meter tall, and is already a key target for European top clubs FC Porto and Manchester United, who both want the youngster's entire family to move to Europe.

Chera, who plays football under the name Anderson, shares the field with players four years older than he is, and manages to surprise all spectators with his actions. ADAP chairman Adilson Batista Prado commented: "He's phenomenal, I've never seen anything like this before. He keeps on surprising. Everybody who sees him play is fascinated."

Pretty unbelievable if you're into soccer.

Military Reloads with Nanotech

Tuesday January 25, 2005

atom.gifSandia National Laboratories, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory are researching how to manipulate the flow of energy within and between molecules, a field known as nanoenergentics, which enables building more lethal weapons such as "cave-buster bombs" that have several times the detonation force of conventional bombs such as the "daisy cutter" or MOAB (mother of all bombs).

Researchers can greatly increase the power of weapons by adding materials known as superthermites that combine nanometals such as nanoaluminum with metal oxides such as iron oxide, according to Steven Son, a project leader in the Explosives Science and Technology group at Los Alamos.

"The advantage (of using nanometals) is in how fast you can get their energy out," Son says.

Son says that the chemical reactions of superthermites are faster and therefore release greater amounts of energy more rapidly.

"Superthermites can increase the (chemical) reaction time by a thousand times," Son says, resulting in a very rapid reactive wave.

We're all going to die.

The Lexus LF-A

Thursday January 20, 2005

18155621.jpgThis is the Lexus LF-A, a supercar that looks certain to reach production in 2007 with over 500bhp, a 200mph top speed and a sub-Ł80,000 price tag. It will be the first high-performance Toyota since the Supra was axed in ’96.
The LF-A is a Porsche 911-sized front-engine, rear-drive supercar with a naturally aspirated engine derived from Toyota’s F1 project. Prototypes are currently believed to be running a compact V10, inspired by the current 3.0-litre unit that powers Toyota’s TF105 F1 car.

I can't decide what I think about it. A little ugly? Maybe ugly isn't the word, because it's pretty slick. Fine, I'll take it.

Eminem Got It Right

The controversial new video, Mosh.

The video is right to the point. Don't vote for Bush. Don't buy into his bullshit.
Let the President answer on high anarchy
Strap him with AK-47, let him go
Fight his own war, let him impress daddy that way
No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our soil
No more psychological warfare to trick us to think that we ain't loyal
If we don't serve our own country we're patronizing a hero
Look in his eyes, it's all lies, the stars and stripes
They've been swiped, washed out and wiped,
And replaced with his own face, mosh now or die
If I get sniped tonight you'll know why, because I told you to fight

It's a damn shame nobody listened.

Microwave Gun

Monday September 20, 2004

Microwave weapons that cause pain without lasting injury are to be issued to American troops in Iraq for the first time as concern mounts over the growing number of civilians killed in fighting.

The non-lethal weapons, which use high-powered electromagnetic beams, will be fitted to vehicles already in Iraq, which will allow the system to be introduced as early as next year.

Using technology similar to that found in a conventional microwave oven, the beam rapidly heats water molecules in the skin to cause intolerable pain and a burning sensation. The invisible beam penetrates the skin to a depth of less than a millimetre. As soon as the target moves out of the beam's path, the pain disappears.

Crazy shit.

Hillary Duff

Monday September 13, 2004

I've been away from the internet for a couple days securing a house with this view from the backyard deck (with jacuzzi, outdoor bar, tons of hookers, etc...)

But back to the point, is it just me or is there something severely wrong with the guy Hillary Duff is with here? First of all I could care less about Ms. Duff, the only Duff for me is Duff beer. But seriously this guy has so many overall style "no-nos" going on it's unbelievable. Somebody contact Vice magazine to put him in the Do's and Don'ts.

West Nile Virus

Wednesday September 08, 2004

Lately everyone who gets sick immediately thinks they have the dreaded west nile virus. Oh my god and they also have a mosquito bite!! I wanted to compose an entry of the facts to possibly help a few people calm down.

Fact: 2004 total cases: 1191
2004 total deaths: 30
(2.5%)

2003 total cases: 9862
2003 total deaths: 264 <-- scary!!
(2.6%) <-- same

Compare:
During peak season up to 10% fatality rate in flu victims, and it's complications. Now think about how many times you've had the flu. Sure West Nile may be reason enough to take precaution, but to freak out and have news articles every half an hour on tv?

Thursday July 29, 2004

These guys posted an article about neutering Internet Explorer on your system, making all default IE calls target whichever browser you like (firefox!). I gotta admit I would be very tempted to do this if it wasn't for certain things that only run in IE such as windows update, an important feature. So read this if you feel like it, it's short. But in the meantime go download Mozilla's Firefox browser, it's slick and quite nice. I use it about 50% of the time, and often I think websites even look better in it...mine does.

CD Review - New Unearth

Friday July 02, 2004

Taking a somewhat different route today I've decided to review a cd I recently downloaded. Now before you go calling the RIAA if you knew me you'd realize I have over 300 CDs, purchased that is. Plus I'll probably end up buying this one just like I did with the new Killswitch Engage CD (amazing).

I wasn't sure what to expect from a band who now is playing Ozzfest, and other gigantic festivals. They have exploded into one of the biggest metal bands around, and personally I couldn't be happier. I've always been a fan, and the new album "The Oncoming Storm" doesn't disappoint. The production is unbelievable, which doesn't always come from Metal Blade releases. Not unlike the last album "The Stings of Concience" this one offers up plenty of technical chaos, hard hitting drums (new drummer from The Red Chord is doing great), and vicious breakdowns. It's metal to the max as I says. I've been listening to it nonstop and I have yet to find much I can complain about. The singer sounds the same, and thats how I want it because he's amazing. The last time I saw Unearth, years ago with Poison the Well (Opposite of December days) I was instantly addicted, and I'm now quite disappointed I haven't seen them since. I'm gonna give this album a 9.5/10 simply because theres always room for improvement. But I couldn't tell you where in this case...

I'm gonna post a song, the third song on the album entitled "This Lying World." The reason for choosing this song is the riff during the breakdown. Lets just say I wish I wrote it.

reflection off Perdido Bay from Alabama.

I'm a geek, but I think being able to see the planet Venus in front of the sun is completely amazing. No person alive today has ever seen this event before, although it will happen again in not too many years.

how to hide porno

Wednesday June 09, 2004

In case you need to hide the porno on your computer from your mom/girfriend/psychologist/roommate(in the case that it's all gay porn, like my roommate) just go to this site and read all about it.

Alternatively you could just make the path to your porn be: F:\Videos\porno like mine is. It's so obvious that nobody would ever think to look there. Really, it's tried and tested.

Carrera GT

Monday June 07, 2004

Top Gear episode for the brand new Carrera GT, the fastest car Top Gear has ever had, and probably most amazing. It's the most "cream-in-pants" automobile I've seen in a long time.

Bring your own tissue.

SSS Draft 2005?

Thursday June 03, 2004

In short: No.

If you've received this circulating link and panicked for a few seconds as I did, fear not.

First go here and read why not to panic.

Second realize that any site with a .org extension is not official government.

Third after doing some research, and by doing research I mean making Bryan do research I found out this bill is in the committee right now with 1 sponsor and 14 cosponsors. It has ZERO senate sponsors, where a passing bill often has hundreds. Just doing my part to save you stress. America may seem screwed up once in awhile, but I wouldn't spend my time pondering the draft.

Know any more info, or care to comment please do so.

This dude scores a pretty impressive goal in soccer, and even though it's not during an actual game it's pretty sweet. But obviously, I could do better.

Watery Take Off

Thursday May 06, 2004

I don't know if it's just me but I'm pretty sure launching rockets off a giant platform in the middle of the ocean is amazing. Think about it.

nightmare

Monday May 03, 2004

So after battling microsofts f*cked up software Internet Explorer I believe I have finally tamed the beast and all of my content appears on the screen. If you're a geek such as I you might want to read about microsofts inability to comply with the W3C standard in web design, thus the floating content problems dubbed the "peekaboo bug." This is largely due to the fact that they obviously won the browser war, because seriously when's the last time you went to a computer and chose to use netscape, opera, mozilla. you didn't, you used internet explorer. once again, microsoft sucks. Anyway, all is back in order. More to come.

Major update...

Sunday May 02, 2004

Currently working on making KleffmanStyle a better experience for all...
The old news will be up again shortly. And by old news I mean naked pictures of video game characters.

Just think now you'll be able to leave me rude comments about how much you think the site sucks!

edit: I realize the whole commenting system is totally screwed and content doesn't show up until you highlight it...look up the "IE6 peekaboo" bug and tell me how to deal with it if you feel so inclined.

minor revisions

Thursday March 18, 2004

Finals...are...finally...done. A couple small changes can be noted. First I'm a liar, and there will be no videos page. Before you shed too many tears, I plan to put an occasional "funny as shit" video up still. This will appear in the "extra" section. Take a look at the linkage too, you won't regret it.
