Denny Conn's Rye IPA (All Grain)March 18, 2007 |
|
Memorial day came up fast and it was high time for another brew day. In the last couple months I've finally made the all grain leap. I converted a keg into a boil kettle,
got a propane burner so I can cook outdoors, and made a mash tun out of a great cooler. All with ball valves and all the fancy gadgets. I'm in love with Rye beers so I
decided Denny's Rye IPA would be the perfect first all grain beer. We did well, didn't get great efficiency but have 5 gallons of beer at 1.067 OG fermenting. Actually as I
write this it's done fermenting, and will be transferred to secondary in a little less than a week probably. I hope the 1272 Wyeast attenuates as well as it's supposed to so
I hit my target final gravity. This beer is going to RULE. Updates to follow after secondary and a few weeks in the bottle.
