SinSaisonal (All Grain) - 5.5% ABV

July 22, 2007

It's been hot as hell so it was an obvious choice what to brew in July: A Saison! I'm not exactly the most educated person on the topic of Saisons but I've had enough to know that I enjoy them and most definitely want to brew one. We went with SinSaisonal as the base recipe and then modified it just a bit. Forgot to add the sugar to the boil, so we're missing a few gravity points but it still fermented to the correct final gravity and tastes incredible. We just bottled it so hopefully after a couple weeks it'll be an amazing summer brew!

Update: The Belgian Saison exceeded all expectations. It could've been a little drier, but the taste is amazing. The yeast contributed a nice subtle spicy, peppery characteristic perfect for the style. It turned out rather dark, but it's not your usual saison with an all pilsner malt base. Great warm weather belgian farmhouse style ale.
